In 1978, Jay R. Patel graduated from North London University and immigrated from London, England to (specific town, state). It was there that he received his first management opportunity at the 50-unit Red Carpet Inn. During his six years with the company, Mr. Patel held every possible position, including front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, security, and eventually owner. The invaluable experience gained through his real-world training laid a solid foundation for what would soon be a flourishing career in hospitality.
Mr. Patel soon applied his working know-how to the business world when he founded Major Hospitality, Major Resorts LLC, and Capital Hospitality Management. Over the next thirty years, he expanded on his formidable knowledge base, personally growing Capital Hospitality as its Chairman and CEO. CHM is an accurate representation of the proficiency of its founder as a fully integrated developer, owner, and manager of premium brand hotels.
From guest relations to new construction, Mr. Patel is the ultimate host, with a passion for the hospitality industry. In addition to his personal business experience, Mr. Patel is also a Certified Lodging Owner (CLO) and a committee member for the Central Florida Hospitality Association (CFHA).
Shamir J. Patel

Shamir J. Patel, son of Jay R. Patel, grew up in the family's hospitality business. He earned his B.A. from The University of Miami and continued on to Barry University School of Law. Shamir is a member of the Florida BAR as well as being a certified hotel administrator (CHA) and a committee member of the Central Florida Hospitality Association (CFHA).
Currently, Mr. Patel is president of development and acquisitions for the nation's fastest growing independent hotel management company, Capital Hospitality Management. Shamir's responsibilities include identifying candidates for acquisition and management contracts. He also directs the company's relationship with real estate brokers and investment trust, hotel owners, financial and institutional fund managers and hotel franchise companies. On a daily basis, he manages the operations of CHM's Development Division.
Before his work for Capital Hospitality, Shamir worked as the managing director for Major Hospitality, an institutional equity investment and asset management firm, where he oversaw their $40 million dollar hotel equity portfolio. Shamir also held senior management posts in development, acquisitions, finance and operations at Major Resorts, LLC. In addition to this, Shamir was the Senior Consultant for Emergency Services 24, where he procured multi-million dollar government contracts with Florida League of Cities, Orange County Public Schools, and many other reputable institutions.
